PHONE SCAMS

As Christmas approaches, we do not want you falling victim to scams and fraud.

People lose a lot of money to Phone Scams.

Sometimes their life savings. Scammers have figured out countless ways to cheat you out of your money over the phone.

In some cases, they act friendly and helpful. In others, they threaten or try to scare you. They will do what ever it takes to get your money or your personal information to commit identity theft.

One such Scam making the rounds at the moment is an automated phone call that tells you that it is the HMRC. It tells you that HMRC are filing a lawsuit against you because you owe them money. It tells you to press 1 and speak with a case worker. THIS IS A SCAM, END THE CALL IMMEDIATLEY.

If you receive calls from your bank requesting personal account details, or money please think before answering any questions. Always think Scam.

STOP, HANG UP, AND CALL 159. This is a safe phone service to most high street banks who can help.
